Objective:
I can
This will be a quick written introduction to the lesson!
Lesson Steps:
On this webpage, you will find everything you need for the lesson! It will be laid out in the order that you should work through them to best facilitate mastery for this lesson. Each title will also jump you to that part of the page for quick navigation!
- Watch video and take notes
- Participation in the EdPuzzle will be required for your grade! Make sure to follow the link and complete the EdPuzzle for the video!!!
- I have the video, without the EdPuzzle questions and notes, loaded here on the website as well in case you wish to return to the video or watch without interruptions.
- Find partner on public tracker and complete partner problems
- These will be completed in your packet on the lesson practice page!
- Complete the independent practice
- This will usually be on DeltaMath, but sometimes MathXL or another program
- Complete the “I Am Ready Problem”
- This problem will be on this webpage, but you will complete on your lesson practice page!
- Bring practice page to me to receive mastery check
Watch Video & Take Notes:
As you watch the video, copy down the notes in to the unit packet you received at the beginning of the unit.
- You only need to complete the parts of the notes that I complete in the video
- Any other problems/notes that are skipped in the video can be skipped by you.
- I will have a completed set of notes in a binder if you don’t like the missing/blank areas. You can simply copy down the missing parts, or you can try the problems yourself first and then use the copy in the binder to check your work. Whatever you need.
- Again, you can just leave it blank! The above options are just if you’d like the extra practice, you’ve been told to go back and do the extra practice to be eligible for a revision on a mastery check, or simply if you want to do them so your notes are complete.
EdPuzzle Required for Grade!
Follow this link to go to the EdPuzzle.com interactive video for this lesson, or just log in to your www.EdPuzzle.com account and find the video with the same name as this lesson! You will be required to answer questions throughout the video to help you better understand the information.
Don’t worry if you need to watch the video again! I have the plain video included below just in case you wish to go back and review! But again, the Edpuzzle is part of your grade, so don’t skip this step!!!
Just Video
This is the plain video, without questions embedded. Remember, the Edpuzzle is part of your grade, so you NEED to participate in that! This video is just here to refer back to in case you wanted to rewatch, for families/friends to watch if they are trying to help you, or simply as a backup if EdPuzzle is having problems.
Partner Work:
- Find a partner that is on the same lesson as you on the public pacing tracker posted in class.
- Together, decide which assignment you wish to complete and do the problems together on your practice page in your packet.
Assignment Choice 1: The QR Code Worksheet
- For this first worksheet, a QR code is at the end. It can help you with each problem, showing you step-by-step how to finish the problem.
Assignment Choice 2: Worksheet with Separate Answer Key
- The first link is the worksheet, while the following link is the answer key to that worksheet. It is important to note that the answer key is only a key – it does not show you step-by-step through the problem like the QR code does, but it does show you the answers quicker!
- Together, check your work and fix any mistakes you made.
Independent Practice:
- Go to www.DeltaMath.com and independently complete practice ~ 1.1 – Monomials & Polynomials
- When done, write down your completed percentage for this lesson on the practice page.
“I am Ready Problem”:
- On your practice page for this lesson, complete the following problem as completely and accurately as you can.
- This problem is a quick test for you to see how comfortable you are with this lesson. Once you’ve completed the problem, indicate your level of confidence on the lesson practice page.
Mastery Check:
- You may ask for your mastery check if you have completed:
- All notes for this lesson
- All practice for this lesson
- If both requirements are done, bring your lesson practice page and come ask me for the mastery check. You will need a pencil or pen.
Reminders about Mastery Checks:
- No phones or computers are allowed. Set your playlist on your earbuds prior to asking for the mastery check (if you want/need)
- Calculators are allowed on mastery checks.
- Notes may be allowed on some mastery checks – I will let you know which. More likely, I will have any important formulas posted so you don’t need your notes.
- Mastery checks can only be completed at the designated table.
Once Done with a Mastery Check…
- Turn in to your class period’s bin
- Continue on to the next lesson until you find out if your mastery check was correct or if it needs to be revised
- Does your name move to the next column? Congratulations! Mark that on the lesson practice page as mastered and continue working through the next lesson!
- Does your name end up highlighted in orange? Don’t despair! Follow the steps below.
If You Need to Revise
